Why I write

I write because I’ve always written. I write because I read & I want to give back. I write because I talk too much, so it’s a natural alternative to annoying all my friends. I write to clarify my thoughts & emotions, to delve deeper into a subject. Writing is a form of learning, a spiritual & mental practice, an active meditation. I write to uncover the answers of questions, to capture details, to explain how suffering is a form of beauty & to implore you to live your life as a work of art. I write to remember, to vent, to tell stories, to experiment with my mind & thoughts. I write to discover & to practice awareness. I write because I like the feel of certain pens on certain paper & the sound of fingers clicking away on a keyboard. I write to make & keep friends, to say thank you, to share ideas & refine opinions. I write because that’s what it means to be a writer.
I write because I like it.

If you write, why do you do it? Or alternatively, why do you do what it is that you do? (& believe me, you do it oh so well :D )
